Personal Life
Ed loves outdoor activities and traveling with his wife of 37 years, Faith. Most weekends you’ll find him bicycling, kayaking, sailing, or hiking. And he bikes to work two or three days each week.
Technology Background
Before becoming a lawyer, Ed held positions in the tech world with a pacemaker manufacturer, custom integrated circuit manufacturer, and laser bar code manufacturer, as a systems engineer and product marketing manager. He has been part of teams that designed software and hardware for the first generation of defibrillator pacemakers, and custom analog and digital integrated circuits used in automobiles and healthcare applications.
In 1995, Ed was awarded U.S. Patent, No. 5,468,952, for a 1992 miniature laser scanner computer invention.

Shaun Thornton came to brokering armed with the experience of decades of high-level business in the global metals industry. As a qualified electrical engineer in Britain’s steel sector, Shaun quickly moved on to project management and then to sales and general management.
After transferring to the United States in 1980, he:
- Forged a successful negotiating career in the steel and aluminum industries
- Became Head of Global Technical Sales at a multinational engineering corporation
- Built and led a skilled sales team managing high-value contracts across South Africa, Brazil, Australia, Russia, Europe, and the USA
- Served as president of an engineering and manufacturing company supplying bespoke solutions to the steel industry and specialized brass and copper manufacturers
